Part Four?
Monday, June 1st, 2009 by tcgYes, indeed. My Dad captured a bit of video when we went to the Renaissance Faire last weekend. He also took a few pictures to add to the gallery. Enjoy!

Oh no, is there going to be a part five?
(I’m just kidding! I’ve enjoyed reading about your adventures at the Ren Faire.)
I have a bit of a question: do you know if those clothes at the “Damsel in this Dress” shop were expensive? I’m just curious if they were asking outrageous prices for their goods.

In general, faire prices are usually pretty decent. Sometimes I’m surprised at the cost and then I remember that these clothes have yards and yards and yards of nice fabric in them that ups the price pretty quickly. Damsel in This Dress is pricey. But they are quality. Sooo, your call. If I had the cash, I’d seriously consider one of their bodices. Their blouses are very reasonable.
At a random shop at a faire you can get a man’s outfit from $140-280 and a woman’s outfit around $180-250. Can you make these for less? Probably. But only if you sew or someone you know sews. Most costume shops sell decent replicas for about the same price.

Thanks for the info. Those prices are close to what I had expected.
It’s easy to forget just how much work goes into making a decent outfit like those for sale at that ren fair. You certainly aren’t kidding about multiple yards of material! Unfortunately, I couldn’t even begin to make those myself as I have the sewing ability of a blind capuchin monkey …
