Farrah’s Costumes

Farrah was a bold young woman. She took chances and made risky decisions that sometimes left us scratching our heads but mostly left as wanting more. Her early work highlights her science fiction and costume period. As her career progressed, she opted for everywoman roles and good ol’ gals who wore regular street clothes. I’d like to note a few of her more memorable costumed moments.
Farrah’s sexy black suit from Saturn 3 usually gets a photo op so I’ve included it here. However, she spends most of the film in standard issue space sweat suits like her costar. Admittedly, both she and Kirk Douglas are out of those standard issues suits for many minutes, I think it should be noted that she’s the simple and tasteful space explorer for most of the film.
She also made a movie stealing appearance in Logan’s Run. Jenny Agutter gets a lot of notice for her barely there little green dress, but it was Farrah who sparkled. Literally. Her short green mini was a sequined sight to behold in the futuristic plastic surgeon’s office. In fact. it’s her little dress that’s hanging in a museum.
My favorite costume role for Farrah Fawcett is her stint on Charlie’s Angels as Jill Muroe. The costume adventure a week was a great format for her and her costars. Viewers turned in not only to see them get the bad guys but to see what risque or unusual undercover outfit they’d wear. I’m partial to her turn as a roller derby skater in “Angels on Wheels”.
Thank you Farrah for never being too self conscious. You’ve brought a lot of smiles to our lives.

I’d completely forgotten her role in ‘Saturn 3′ as I haven’t seen that film in ages.
