Happy Fourth!

Mmmmm, burgers! We’ve lit some snakes and snapped some poppers. As soon as the sun goes down, we’ll have sparklers and fountains and pretty aerials. I’m wearing the Miss Firecracker costume with some mismatched old prom shoes and Wonder Girl earrings.

The dress has a red and white attached skirt. The blue corset, also attached, is a plastic material. It’s almost wrinkle proof. A little red-bowed headband is included with the costume. When I bought fireworks, everyone asked me where I got my dress. Check out the album for closeups of the dress.

The fireworks were wonderful. Unfortunately we had several duds. I had a dud smoke bomb. The kids had multiple dud fountains and blooming rose thingies. What are the odds that one purchaser buys that many duds? Sigh. All the big aerials my father bought himself for his birthday present worked beautifully. There was a little fireworks duel between several of their neighbors. After the excitement died down, we had cake and went home.

When you previously posted about this dress, the picture from the link you included made the outfit look a little darker in color than what I had expected. Looks better in your photos, as something like that should really be as bright and gaudy as possible. :D

It’s a shame about your fireworks, though. Duds are bad, not to mention extremely dangerous as you never know if they’ll decide to detonate when you try to remove them.

I didn’t do much for the fourth, as the locals around here have a bad habit of lighting fireworks year-round and so I’m a bit sick of them by this point … there’s quite a few discount fireworks stores nearby for the neighborhood hooligans to stock up their armories. :(

Was this a family get-together? You mentioned kids running around, so I’m assuming they’re yours.
