Looks better in your photos, as something like that should really be as bright and gaudy as possible. :D It's a shame about your fireworks, though. Duds are bad, not to mention extremely dangerous as you never know if they'll decide to detonate when you try to remove them. I didn't do much for the fourth, as the locals around here have a bad habit of lighting fireworks year-round and so I'm a bit sick of them by this point ... there's quite a few discount fireworks stores nearby for the neighborhood hooligans to stock up their armories. :( Was this a family get-together? You mentioned kids running around, so I'm assuming they're yours.
