A Contest for Sports Lovers

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009 by tcg

I’m not a huge sports fanatic. In fact, I have no idea who Tony Parker is, but he’s cool in my book for this:

He and his wife Eva Longoria recreated Summer Lovin’ with their friends and a couple mascots. Please note the straight from the closet costumes and the delightfully cheesy wigs.

He encourages all of you to create your own homespun musical numbers for a chance to attend a Spurs game before the 2010 Playoffs. The deadline is January 31, so get filming! Good luck!

Happy Holidays!

Merry Christmas!

We’re on day 4 of Christmastime. What is that? Colly birds, I think. Today is a gift of four blackbirds in a pie. Huh. I’ve never had bird pie…wait a tic! I’ve had chicken pie. Perhaps I should give blackbird a try.

But I digress.

I wore my Santa inspired outfit to work on Thursday. What did you wear this season? Show me your gay apparel.

The Pink Nightmare

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009 by tcg

Ralphie wasn't this happy.

Ralphie wasn't this happy.

It’s a tradition for many of my generation to gather round the television and watch A Christmas Story. We were young and not yet stuck on Gizmo when it debuted. The movie gave us the Leg Lamp, frozen tongues, and soapy mouths. We would wake up every Christmas morning and be glad when Ralphie’s fate was not our own. As adults, we kinda sorta want the snuggly, warm, bunny pajamas. We’re not proud anymore, no dignity to preserve….give us a giant pink onesie with a tail!

Our Christmas wishes have been granted. Over at Instructables, Seamster has written a great how-to for adult bunny sleepwear. Thank you, Seamster.

The First Day of Winter

Yay!

Winter is here. Some of you have already experienced the cold, wind, ice, and snow typical of the winter season…but it was all Autumn’s fault. From here on out Winter will take the heat. Er, the blame for the chilly temperatures. Winter also is host to several fun holidays like Christmas, New Year’s, President’s Day, and Valentine’s Day. Oh! Don’t forget National Pie Day on January 23. (I must have the pie hat!)

I’ve sneakily opened one of my Christmas presents early. A blogger pal of mine gave me a costume: Winter Nymph. I put on the costume roughly five minutes after opening the box. In honor of the new season, I’ve tried on the ensemble and taken a few pictures.

The costume has a skirt, top, belt, and crown. The belt, wire and beads, kept poking me so I took it off. You won’t see it in the pictures….at least not this group. I didn’t do anything special to my hair or wear a wig, but I did apply some tinsel eyelashes and snowflake sequins. It’s a fun costume. Maybe I’ll collect the entire season set.

If you follow ManWithPez’s twitter feed than you’ve already gotten a sneak peek at the costume.

Thank you for the great present!

Still Time to Shop

It may be one week til Christmas, but there is still time to shop, order, and ship some fun holiday costumes. There are snowmen costumes for the young. Try on a Gingerbread Man suit for size. The perennial holiday season toy soldier makes a fun and versatile costume gift.

You can also keep it simple with elves and North Pole inhabitants like the Mrs. and reindeer. But where’s the fun in that? Be different. Try a Rockettes costume for the holiday pageant. Or better yet, be a tree. A tall friendly Christmas Tree! You could modify the tree costume if you’re a Kringus fan. I bet nobody else would look like you.

Anywho, think about it. Pick up some holiday gear and have a little fun this Christmas season. Remember, Christmas lasts until January 6 so you have plenty of time to work on costumes for the 12 days of Christmas….try the soldier on for that one. Add a drum or two…viola! Little drummers to keep the lords a leaping.

Howdy Doodily Readerinos

It’s cold today.

That calls for a sweater.

Which in turn calls for a little fun.

Today I wore a green sweater and pink shirt to work. Remind you of anyone? I left the mustache at home, because that would just weird out people. So, do you ever wear costumes to work?
