About
I’m just a girl that likes to dress up. That’s it. I’m not professionally trained in costuming. I don’t have a design degree. There’s not a serger in my craft room. I don’t have a craft room. There are boxes with doodads and supplies. Closets with clothes and costumes. And a hot stuffy shed filled with styrofoam, pvc, and hand saws.
That’s it. Nothing fancy. I’m in this because it’s fun. It’s challenging. It’s a great creative outlet. And best of all, you meet interesting folks.
Why am I here? This is a great opportunity to discuss and learn about costumes. For me and for you. Within these pages, I’ll research and create costumes. I’ll talk about the steps to create and show progress on costumes. We’ll brainstorm costuming ideas and solutions together. We’ll help each other…we are friends aren’t we? We should be.
I’ll act silly in public and in private by testing wigs, costumes, and products. Hopefully I’ll work through some informative how-tos. But that’s not all! There’s icing. Sweet convention tasting icing. I’ll attend conventions, interview costumers, post pictures of said costumers, and write about events and contests.
Wow. That’s a lot. I sure hope I’m up to it.
Don’t hesitate to lend a hand. I’m not all-knowing. Feel free to share your tips, links, and pictures. It’s much appreciated.
