Mask Wrap

Do you need a mask in a hurry? I did when making my last minute build of Robin. I didn’t have time to mold anything to fit. I needed something I could make in less than a day. After all, the paint would need time to dry. I thought about green fabric, but I’ve been having bad luck with the stiffener lately. Also considered was duct tape. I decided on using plastic wrap. Mardi Gras Mask Contest Winners

Congratulations everyone on a fun and fantastic Mardi Gras season. I’ve been playing with mask ideas and techniques for next year. I’ve even learned a little something from the entrants. I’m pleased to announce the two winners of the First Annual That Costume Girl Mardi Gras Mask Contest: adult and youth. I think you all will agree they deserve the recognition. Making Masks Part III

I hope you are having as much fun as I am making my Mardi Gras mask. On Wednesday, we made mask patterns. On Thursday, those of us using paper-mâché started our layering and drying process. Today, we decorate! Let’s get started decorating.
