Fourth of July is serious in my family. This year I have costume plans…the purchase and wear kind. Costume Craze carries the Secret Wishes Sexy Firecracker dress. It’s fun, flirty, and modest enough to wear in front of the parents and the children. I have it and it looks just as cute in person. I’ll take a few sparkler accessorized pictures the first week of July. The fireworks stands will be open soon so we can stock up on the aerials and fountains. I can’t wait!

Glow for It!

Monday, March 30th, 2009 by tcg

Have you seen the Glow costumes? They look like a lot of fun. It’s a black suit with glow sticks attached. When the lights are off you look like a stick woman or a stick man. Frat parties and raves will never be the same. I saw this video over at the Costume Craze youtube channel. It’s pretty neat.

I can see dance teams wearing these to great effect. Even better! Get an army of Glow People to walk down the street at night. You could freak out the general population.

Here’s the premise: Aliens land on Earth and are leaning towards destroying us. The government decides it’s best weapons against the Aliens are a group of Monsters they’ve been hiding. There’s a blob like creature, and a super scientist that’s a cockroach, a missing link amphibian man, a 49 foot 11 inch tall woman, and giant caterpillar thing . It should be a lot of fun. See the trailer and costumes.

One More Prize

Tuesday, November 18th, 2008 by tcg

Ladies and gentlemen, it looks like there is still one prize to announce for the Halloween Costume Contest. Costume Craze loved all the costumes and wanted to participate in the fun. A group of employees looked through all the pictures and finally decided on the costumes they liked best. There was an intense discussion.

Costume Craze selected the DC Trio as their favorite entry. They gave the Super Heroes a $25 Gift Certificate. Congratulations Batman, Robin, and of course Wonder Woman! I didn’t know they were going to make such a generous offer. Thank you.

On a more personal note, I need to apologize to Action Ranger Timmy. I was unclear when I said, “This costume may be constructed of mostly purchased pieces…” I in no way meant to imply that a purchased costume was somehow inferior to a handmade costume. I meant that a person wishing to duplicate his very awesome look could do so with an Elvis costume or make a jumpsuit themselves. It was very bad wording. Reading it now, I see that my intent does not come across. Dino Elvis, was from the moment I saw it, one of my favorite costumes. It made me laugh. I want a Dino Elvis costume for myself. I’m sorry Timmy.

ThatCostumeGirl has joined forces with Costume Craze to help make your costume dreams come true. Costume Craze is one of the leading online costume retailers. Perhaps you’ve noticed how often I link to their online store? So have they.

Costume Craze aims to make it easier for me to bring you the latest costume goods and news. Together we will review costumes and fill ThatCostumeGirl’s gallery with pictures of costumed folks. Part of our deal allows them to use some of my photographs on their site. Isn’t that exciting? I’ll be a virtual mannequin.

I’m glad to be a part of a forward moving enterprise like Costume Craze, even tangentially. They made the 2007 Inc. 500 fastest growing companies. CEO Kate has been honored as a finalist for Utah’s Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year two years running. Costume Craze is on the move. ThatCostumeGirl, that’s me, is riding in the sidecar.

Don’t worry, I’m not an employee. More importantly, I won’t ignore other costume avenues. It does mean I’ll recommend them more often than not. They have a great selection and competitive prices. Why don’t you head over now and take a look around the site? See how it fits you. Pick out a costume you like. When you place your order don’t forget your coupon code.

I could be Cindy Williams

That’s right. Costume Craze is offering my readers free ground shipping. It’s equivalent to $5.99 off shipping and handling. It gets better. They will allow you to deduct that $5.99 from any shipping option you’d like if ground just isn’t fast enough for you. Incredible! Before you check out, make sure to type “thatcostumegirl” in the coupon box.

I’m enjoying getting to know the Costume Craze team. Matthew, Camille, Jeff, Teri, the Maloney Family and so many more have welcomed me with open keyboards. Check out their blog to keep up to date with happenings around the company. Thank you, Costume Craze.

Funky

I tried another Sixties inspired costume. Why? It looked like a fun little dress and I secretly want to be Goldie Hawn. This is the Funky Mod Sixties Costume from Costume Craze.

Look familiar?

The pattern is the same shift as the Mod Chic. The dress is purple velour and funky poly with hot pink vinyl accents. It includes the dress and the matching pink headband. I went with a classic side ponytail and boots. However, the look would be more authentic with colored tights and patten flats.

Tousled hair just won’t do. A dress like this calls for coifed hair and fake eyelashes. Maybe add a patent cap or a wig.

Go all out. Be funky.
