After we were well fed and sated we continued wandering around the Renaissance Faire. The lanes led us down to stages and a midway of renaissance themed games. The first stage featured a Laundry Lass show. I’m not sure what that means, but I think it had some audience participation. On Memorial Day the Laundry Lasses hosted a Wet Tunic contest for men. I like the way the Laundry Lasses think! There were village scenes with smithies and more taverns. There were a lot of ale distributors…not to worry there were softer drinks for the kids. Read about all the performers.
Yesterday we made our way to the castle at the Renaissance Faire. Today, we’ll leave the relative safety of the castle walls. It took a few minutes for our eyes to adjust to the bright outdoors after being inside the dank castle for so long. Even with the sound of the musicians paying, it was an effort to find where the music originated. Did anyone dance?
Sunday, I went to the Renaissance Faire with my Mom and Dad. We had a lot of fun wandering around the grounds and seeing the colorful denizens of the faire. You can follow our adventures by clicking through the gallery. Outside the gate was a small ensemble and some dancing girls. What a great way to greet your guests!
We entered into an old street scene. We looked around and saw paths marked with weathered signs pointed in varying directions. We chose the one that said ‘castle.’ The bagpipe was like a siren’s call.
